Its been a busy winter for the members of Ringwood & District Round Table! Alongside having the privilege of spending two weeks at the start of December escorting Father Christmas around the streets of Ringwood & the surrounding towns & villages, we’ve been involved with lots of local events, raising money for local good causes & charities.

Our annual “busy period” started in November, with Ringwood Grand Fireworks on Sunday 5th November. As ever, we were asked to collect the materials & build the bonfire, alongside running the Great Guy Fawkes Build-off competition for local schools & nurseries and then running the bar for the event. The weather held (thankfully!), and we hope that everyone had as good a time as we did! At the end of the month we were back helping out with Ringwood Winter Wanderland, bringing our Sleigh out of the storage to deliver Father Christmas to the Market Place to turn on the Ringwood Christmas Lights as well as running a bar at the street market for the day. Sadly, the weather wasn’t too kind, but it didn’t dampen our spirits behind the bar (No pun intended!). After Christmas, and the fun of Santa’s Sleigh, we got busy collecting over 100 somewhat crispy Christmas Tree’s from local doorsteps & driveways, before delivering them to Poulner Junior School who plan to put them to good use with a fantastic Den Building project for the pupils!

All in all, thanks to the hard work of our volunteer members, and the generosity of the public, we’ve been able to raise an amazing £3,500 for local good causes & charities! Now we need you help – We need you to nominate some worthy good causes that we can help with this money! Make sure that you comment on our post, and even better tag the good cause that you’d like to put forward!

Finally, we’d like to take the opportunity to say a massive thank-you to all of the local companies, and especially to you the public, for your help & support overt the last few months! We couldn’t do what we do without you!
